Pol Roger is both a champagne and a family institution with a tradition of excellence. Its Chinese name, 宝禄爵, pronounced bao(3) lu(4) jue(2), denotes treasure, value, and nobility. Pol Roger founded his champagne house in Epernay in 1849. Through 5 generations, Pol Roger’s direct descendants have owned and run this proudly independent firm – one of the most famous in Champagne – whose wines are prized by champagne lovers throughout the world. The succeeding generations of the family have introduced more cuvees to reflect changing tastes in champagne, all the while maintaining the reputation of the brand for the quality and consistency. Their famous Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill was prepared as Pol Roger formal tribute to the company’s most distinguished customer.
